Hodads – By definition, a Hodad is a nonsurfer who frequents surfing beaches and pretends to be a surfer. This Hodad, however, is not pretending to be anything that it’s not. It’s a beachy burger joint that boasts “the best burgers in the world” and lives up to its bravado.
Rocky’s – Step inside and take a trip back to 1983 when Daryl Hall & John Oates’ Maneater topped the Billboards, deal with the standing room only lunch crowd, and prepare yourself for a hangover-curing, juicy-ass burger with the perfect bun. And we mean the perfect bun.
Jayne’s Gastropub – The Jayne Burger is a perfectly executed text-book burger that doesn’t try and reinvent the wheel. If you are lucky, DJ GreyBoy will be spinning while you’re there or the owner and his band mates and friends will be jamming. Great music AND a great burger, yaaasss!
Carnita’s Snack Shack – “It’s a little ol’ place where we can get together” and have some banging burgers.
The Waterfront – Have your #SundayFunday any day of the week at this San Diego institution known for its pub grub and day drinking. The title burger is the way to go.
Dan Diegos – This zesty house ground steakburger is topped with Irish cheddar, corned beef, caramelized onions and bacon and served with Russian Horsey Sauce. And did we say bacon? Get this in your belly.
If you’re in the mood for a road trip up the 5 Freeway to Pasadena, we have one more recommendation…
CaliBurger – Make it a double, a CaliDouble. Do it. And be sure to visit their booth on-site at #KAABOO16.
