The San Diego area has plenty going on this holiday season. From the Del Mar Fairgrounds to Petco Park, there’s plenty on the roster for kids and kids at heart. Here are just a few attractions you may want to check out in the coming days.

Holiday Wonderland at Petco

Friday, Dec. 18 through Wednesday, Dec. 23, 4:30 p.m.

One of SoCal’s best ballparks transforms into a wintry North Pole scene. Back for it’s second year and even bigger, the Petco Holiday Wonderland has a layout and enhanced holiday experiences. Visit Santa’s Workshop, feed live reindeer, ride a Polar Express train, explore Candyland, take a photo with Santa, and gaze at the 40-foot-tall Christmas tree. Holiday-themed concessions and merchandise available for purchase throughout the ballpark.

Parade of Lights – San Diego Bay

Sunday, Dec. 20, 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The annual Parade of Lights on San Diego Bay is a worthy tradition. You can lineup in various places along the parade route, or you can check out all the action from the historic ferryboat Berkeley at the Maritime Museum of San Diego. The parade judges sit on the steam yacht Medea, and the lit-up boats put on their best shows when they pass. The Parade of Lights on the Berkeley has the option of a holiday dinner from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Cost is $25 children and $50 adults. If you just want to watch the parade, it’s $10 for museum admission after 6 p.m. This year’s parade theme is Christmas Around the World. More info: 619-234-9153 x106.

Del Mar Fairgrounds Holiday of Lights

Until Friday, January 1

A holiday favorite for Southern California, the Holiday of Lights at the Del Mar Fairgrounds and Racetrack features lighted and animated holiday creations that can be viewed from your car as you drive the 1.5 mile route through the Fairgrounds to the sounds of festive holiday tunes.
